One point about the decision to purchase a gun is what happens if it breaks. I bought a Kimber stainless target about one year eight months ago and the gun has performed flawlessly. One day shooting at the range the rear sights would not hold zero and finally flew apart. The timing could have been better as I was in the middle of a match, but what the heck. I called Kimber from work on their 1800 number. I could not call the custom shop from work so like 2 minites after I hang up a custom shop rep calls me at work. The rep acted like my problem was the most urgent business he had all day and told me the problem would be corrected ASAP. I second day aired the slide on a Tuesday and had it back by that Friday all at no charge. The gun was technically 8 months out of warrenty. I felt like Kimber's customer service was first rate.
