Im intrested in info on less lethal ammo.

Pro's and con's.

What are your eksperience (any one with acutal feild eksperience, please come forward)?

Which Less Lethal cardrige is in use by law enforsment?

Which type do you prefer (bean bag/rubber ball/rubber buck and so on)?

For home defense (im thinking one or two LL rounds follow by buck)?

And what is avaliable to the public to day?

Sorry i din't find any ting under Less Lethal

But my second search on Bean bag gave me al the info and points of view i need

Thank you for seting me straight

How about searching...

nonlethal in shotguns
rubber buckshot or rubber shot

What are the pros and cons for a non-LEO? The only pros I see is maybe not killing somebody. The cons I see are non killing somebody, not stopping somebody, and having that person defeat you before you finally cycle through to your buckshot. Also, when you use less lethal ammo, you still run the same liability risks as using lethal force. You have to be justified in using lethal force before you use the less lethal ammo.

I'd say it differently...for non-sworn users, by the time it's OK to present the weapon, it will be OK to use it. There is almost no practical or legal rationale for "less lethal" munitions. Also consider this - what are you going to do if the subject of interest presents a firearm...how fast can you dispose of your less lethal load(s)?

how fast can you dispose of your less lethal load(s)?

Ther will not bee more than two LL round in my 870. And they will bee disposed of at center mass of my target.

That being said i am converted to the light side, 00 buck chamberd and maybe i will have som slugs handy just in case

If you have to shoot

When confronted with a situation of self defense, numerous options.
Last but not the least to consider is shooting someone with a firearm.
When the time comes to do that you had better have all your ducks in a row.

Now lets consider the baton, it is legal for a LEO to use it when the time comes. It is also a felony to use it if it is not needed.

Monday morning quarterbacking is there and alive and very much a problem for some and good for others. Responsibility is a big issue all the time.

When you have to pull the shooter you better be ready to use it or else it is more of a problem to get it put away and use the right tool.

I believe the less lethal is one of the tools that should be used about as much as an M16/Shotgun (not very often). It is good to have in the tool box, but not on the person.

If you need to pull your side arm you should need to shoot the person, simple.

Baton is the best defensive weapon and offensive, will be used 100 to 1 in real situations. Been there, done it.

Edit: Remember if they take away your baton you can shoot to kill!

How about you think about it this way. If you are justified at shooting someone, will the person you are shooting at have less lethal ammunition? Do you think he gives a rat's butt about not killing you? Unless you are delusional, not friggin' way! If I am shooting at someone, I want something that will put them down right away and end the threat right then and there.

Lets say you use less lethal ammunition and wound him. He can still fight back and is still a threat. Like I said, your attacker will NOT be carrying less than lethal ammo. If he is shooting at you, it will be to kill you. For me, I prefer to return the favor... in spades!

"Less lethal" isn't "non lethal."

When used at across the room distances, certain "less lethal" loads can indeed be lethal.

And, some of it isn't intended for direct fire. Some of the rubber buckshot is meant be be bounced off the street and into rioter's legs, and not fired into the face of Johnny Crackhead at hallway distances.

Hi, I have done some business with this outfit regarding Gunsmithing.

http://bwefirearms.com/

They are into the Less Lethal 50 cal. Upper goes onto a lower AR 15 or M16.

Good stuff for what it is used for. Which is riot contol, I would imagine?

I sure can understand your desire NOT to want to kill someone. Last thing I really want to do too. But "less than lethal" is for the cops and to satisfy the "Libs" that think no one should die in a break in or armed conflict. Leave this stuff to the cops, they also have training and backup. You won't have either if a nut case breaks into your home. As I said, I sure don't WANT to kill a BG, but the bottom line is I WILL if I have no real choice.
