Leopard Scratches Custom Blaser

I like pretty much everything about it except the "claw marks" part. Beautiful wood, beautiful engraving, beautiful workmanship.

Had a new Blaser in my hands for a look see years ago when contemplating a spendy rifle purchase. Not a rifle I personally would care to have then or now. {Lots of noise when operating its straight pull bolt. Sounded like loose tappets in a engine> clicking & clacking}When broken in it may get quieter or it may just get louder? I didn't want to spend that kind of money they wanted back then for one too find out. Even back in those days it was a high dollar rifle. (German Mark verses the American dollar.)
I know first hand Sig has a reputation of building quality firearms. But that hunting model Blaser as I recall its construction was kind'a if'ee feeling but you were assured it was going to be the onlyest one on your block if you bought one.
I did buy its cousin on that same outing. Sig Sauer 202 Supreme Deluxe w/3 barrel set. A rifle that looks like and preforms like >a normal bolt rifle.

Never been a fan of Blazer firearms. The whole goofy spin off of a pump action (straight back bolt) never did it for me.

If I had that kind of loot to spend on a gun, it would be custom made. Think Purdey or Westley Richards...

I was expecting a cool story of a memorable hunt, and one that got the juices flowing. :)

You can keep the gun, Ill take the money for other things though. :)

I guess if you have more money than you could ever spend in a lifetime, this might have some appeal. Blaser rifled are not for me unless I could get one for the same price as any other rifle.

It's an incredible piece of art... but in reality, that's what it is... hang on the wall & enjoy... it could have just as easily been chambered in 22 LR, as we know that 375 H&H will never be on a "hunt" & would never see Africa, unless it was bought to hang on a wall over there...

as far as the scratches... I think they are done nicely... they are just maybe over the top a bit... might be cool with one set if incorporated into the checkering to aid in grip having them in 4 places on the stock, & on the top of the receiver is more than I care for though...

Well, I dunno -- if *I* were a 1 percenter and had enough money to BUY the rifle, I definitely WOULD hunt with it - what the heck? You can always buy another one if you mess it up.

Arrrgh, exactly what I was expecting to find. I figured they'd offer a rifle that was in fine working condition but with big cat mauling all over it and maybe some blood trails of the previous owner who died clutching it while the jungle beast ripped his head off like a house cat playing with a mouse.
