LEO leaves Glock in fanny pack at Wal-Mart

Took the family away for the week-end and caught this on the late, local news ... tried to find a link for it but was unsuccessful.

It was reported that a loaded Glock (don't know the model) in a fanny pack was found by a mother at a local Wal-Mart. The gun was traced and it turned out to be an issued sidearm of the local police. The chief of police was interviewed on TV and said that the gun did not pose a treat to the public because it was inside of a fanny pack and in order to get to the gun, someone would have had to unzipper the fanny pack.

What a doofus response by the chief! So I guess the mother, the Wal-Mart employees and the Police that no doubt took possession of it had all guessed that it was, first, a gun and not a tool of some type, and second, that it was a Glock. They must have checked its contour through the material of the fanny pack since no one is able to unzip a fanny pack. He was probably one of the guys standing behind Clinton at one of his famous trigger lock photo-ops.

But, on the other hand, maybe we can all replace the upcoming mandatory trigger locks with a zippered fanny pack.

This from one who is supposed to "Serve and Protect", which by the lights of some, comes out being RULE. Personally, I think that "nice try, chief" is overly generous.

Almost as interesting as Hillary Clinton's Secret Service body guard having her purse stolen. Her pistol was, of course, in her purse, which was "under her chair" in a Chicago hotel bar. Pistol since recovered, from a doper, who intended to use it as "insurance", he is alleged to have claimed.

Yeah, it's all the basic reasoning that we as citizens can't be trusted to own, or CC a firearm.

Problem with this news is that it furhter strengthens their arguement against us.
The anti's already assert that we're untrained and therefore unqualified, to own/handle firearms. If this occurs to the ones who are trained/unqualified just imagine the anarchy we'd have if everyone had this privilege"?

Best Regards,
Don

The most foolish mistake we could make would be to allow the subjected people to carry arms;
History shows that all conquerers who have allowed their subjected people to carry arms have prepared their own fall.

Like I've said before... sh** happens. Can happen to anyone at anytime.... But what bugs me is, when it happens to the little guy it's all bad, what a terrible thing. We have to get rid of the guns..... But when it happens to one of the elite... well it's no big deal.

The debate is not about guns,
but rather who has the ultimate power to rule,
the People or Government.
RKBA!

Did you guys hear about the stolen cop car out of the driveway in Glendale, Ariz.? Complete with .40 Glock and an MP5. Hope those evil weapons were equipped with "child safety locks!"

Arizona Erick, that was me! I been wanting one of those MP5's ever since I saw them scare the "Bejeebous" out of a little boy in Miami. I figure it must be the ultimate weapon. I stripped the car for parts and (though Chris "Glock God" is gonna make me smoke a "round piece of human excrement" for saying this)gave the Glock to one of those peoples who couldn't figure out how to shoot a real gun! I'm working on Chris!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyway, you guys have the right Idea, a simple LEO makes a mistake and it's big news, an anti gun attorney can leave his in the bleachers of a school and it doesn't hit the mainstream press. The LEO must have been trying on Underwear and had to take his fannypack off! Great Googlymoogly!

What makes you guys and gals think that that Chief of Police would be capable of unzipping a fanny pack? Give him the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps he was merely equating everone else with his own dexterity?? J.B.

What if the gangbanger that was looking for a 54 cal found it?
Oh that's right it’s illegal for him to have it.
Anyway he would have had to un-zip the pack remove the trigger lock,
Unlock the built in safety lock, activate the electronics wear the proper ring, wristband, or implant............................. No danger there.

O.K. people help me out here . If a zipper is protection then what happened with Monica Lewinsky ?
