lengthened forcing cones and slug use

I was reading up a bit on the purpose of lengthened forcing cones (basically less pellet deformation).

Would altered forcing cones have any effect, good or bad, when shooting a foster or Brenneke slug out of that same barrel?

I spoke with my shotgun instructor (he worked at Browning for years) who taught us how to lengthen forcing cones, backbore the barrel, install choke tubes and how to port them if there was any advantage for slugs if the forcing cone was lengthened. He said no.
