length of mag extension??

I found a mag extension for a benelli m2, but the owner does not know how many shells fit in it. I am trying to find an extension that will allow me to carry 7 shots in the mag and 1 in the chamber. If anyone knows how long this extension is it would be a great help.
 
The barrel legnth will determine how long of an extension you can put on the gun. Rule of thumb is 18"-2shot extension, 20"-3shot extension.....hpg

I saw a 3 gun competition where they are using long extension magazine on their shotguns but I think their using slug ammo in hitting those metal targets. I guess slugs are ok but how about other ammo's(buck,bird,steel,etc.),Is this safe(me and my shotgun)??
 
My barrel is 18 inchs (m2 tactical). I just want a plus 2 extension. I found a guy who has an extension, but he does not know how many shells it holds. If I knew how long the extension a plus 2 extension was then I could have him measure it and see if it would work for me.
 
My Franchi 612 defense 18.5" barrel got a +2 extension(measures 4.5 inches from end to end) and just about level to the end of the barrel. I was imagining if I have the 4 shot extension:rolleyes: Looks like scary if I use other different ammo(buck,etc.) than just slugs :rolleyes: :eek: ??
