Legislative Alert for Peoples Republic of Kalifornia: Licensing of all handguns

AB273 is alive and still moving in the Kalifornia legislature. This bill will require licensing and registration of all handguns effective January 1, 2002. It is now in the Senate and has been amended several times. The latest iteration will require handgun owners to be licensed and to complete a written exam covering several subjects and to pass a proficiency test. The license will be good for five years or until your drivers licens expires. Renewal fees: $20 to state and $12 or $15 to local agency.

Just got off the phone with my Assemblyman's office ....he's a good guy, consistently pro-gun. AB273 was a juvinle fellon/school zone law. Yesterday it was gutted and complete replaced with a handgun liscensing and registration law. The aid I talked to hadent yet been made aware of the change. She said the assemblyman would definately be against this.

The Antis are trying to pull a fast one here. ITS TIME FOR ALL CA RESIDENTS TO GET ON THE PHONE. Make your representative aware of the switch thats been pulled.

If you are not from California, pick a county, pretend you are from there, and call that assembly person. Unfortunately, when it rains in California the whole nation opens it umbrella.

can you provide some counties and legislators names? It could get $$$ trying to find all that long distance.

Thanks for the help. My Democrat assembly "representative" will be supporting this, I bet. This kind of BS is common in California politics, since Wille Brown molded the state legislature into what it is today.

If you allow the registration of your handguns, or submit to licensure, you'll get exactly what you deserve in the end. ONLY mass civil disobedience will EVER turn the tide our way again.

10,000,000 people ignoring a law(s) is much more effective than writing a turncoat political hack. Just be sure to vote the bastard(s) out that did this to you. Take names, and hold them responsible.
 
For some reason I wasn't able to do a mass emailing of state legislators, so I picked an address and sent a letter to Kevin Shelley.
Is he a good guy? From Frisco, probably not.

You registered and licensed your so called
"ASSAULT RIFLES" realy only semi automatic rifles; and then what happened?

Confiscation happened.

Now the California Socialists want to do the same with your handguns. First registration and licensing and then confiscation.

After that , the socialists will want to register and license your bolt action hunting rifles and break action skeet and trap shotguns. And then confiscaion will happen yet again.

The socialists will do it unless you California Shooters stop them.
