I live in california and I have a 1300 defender with a folding stock, tactical light and two side saddles... if nobody responds to this Im going to assume its all legit.
 
There are no specific California regulations for pump shotguns. They are regulated by the National Firearms Act of 1934 which says the barrel must be 18" or over, and the overall length must be 26" or over.
 
I thought folding stocks were a no-no for shotguns here too. (?)

If so, it would be one instance where Nevada's laws were more restrictive than California's.

California has no such restrictions. This is a legal shotgun in California (and most of the rest of the US):

Folding/telescoping stocks + Pistol grip on a semi-auto shotgun is a no-no in CA. This falls under their definition of an assault weapon.

Owning such a weapon would cause you to kill children and puppies! :rolleyes:

Let me refraise that:

I thought folding stocks on shotguns were also illegal, like they are on rifles, in California.

I'm in Cali, not Nevada. I know my location entry is a little missleading if you don't read it carefully. Anyway, CJ answered my question.
 
But a pump action isnt considered "semi-auto" is it? I've shot my bad boy plenty of times at the local range (often shooting next to some kind of a law enforcement official) and nobody has had a single bad word for me.
