Legality question on Calico pistols and carbines

The Calicos with the 50 or 100-round rotary mags - Can any guru on federal infringements of our rights tell us whether any of the 1994 or other gun bans affect Calico's ability to make and sell these (and ours to own and use them)? And is there a difference between the over 16" carbines and the pistols? (i.e. is one now affected, but not the other?). Thanks in advance.

I think Calicos fail the weight limit test for "assault pistols". Also, magazines are limited to ten rounds now. See Russian Bizon SMG design (9x18 "hot") for another take on the same theme.

A fairly detailed explaination is to be found at http://www.chris.cc/assault.htm

First, there's the obvious absurdity of a Calico with a 10 round clip; Sort of like a dragster with an engine governor to keep it under 10mph, don't you think? The pre-ban clips are fairly expensive, but still available.

For the pistols, it takes a detachable magazine which does NOT fit through the grip, making it a total no-no. Pre-ban pistols are still available used, though

The carbine, on the other hand, passed muster with some minor modifications. Here's a site dedicated to this firearm:
