my firends house was broken into twice .1 time he was home and woke up when he heard 2 guys climb in though the kitchen window.I **** u not his 2 toddlers and pregnant girlfriend were in the other room sleeping and he had no firearms at all in the house(his girlfriend thought they were unsafe).so he is standing in the dark hallway thinking what the hell do I do.he grabbed the puppy german shepherd that his girlfriend recently aquired because she felt unsafe while he was at work and threw it out at them while yelling at them who f is out there and this is where it gets wacky.he actually made a fake shotgun racking sound.he said he couldnt see them but he heard them hit the widow and what sounded like a pick up squeel out of there. Now after I heard this story and got over how serious this was I fell over laughing about the fake click clack noise he made with his mouth.atleast it worked but it could have gone the other way if they were armed. Now he is a pretty tough guy so he woulda gone down swinging but after he did I get angry just thinking about what could have happened to the his family.
Less then a week later his house was broken into again during the day while they were all out of the house.someone had broken out the garage window and gone through some things but didnt get all the way into the house.
At this point I told him thats it and I loaned him a old high standard shotgun that my grandfather gave me(not a heir loom just something he had lying around from who knows where and jammed frequently so he gave it to me and said fixed it or through it away.the shell stop was all jacked up letting multiple shells loose at each rack.kinda fixed it but now it sometimes doesnt release a shell.better then jamming it)so he atleast had 1 for sure shot and then some iffy follow ups but its all I have right now to loan him and he is dead broke.
Now the shotgun isnt registered to me or anyone for that matter that I know off and my grandfather got it for fixing something minor on someones car years ago(he thinks)so my question is can he get into trouble if he actually has to use it?or if for any other reason?the barrel has been sloppily cut down at some point but it is 18 1/2 long so thats not a problem.I think he has a slight criminal backround from years ago for driving infraction IE. driving on suspeneded and stuff like that but doesnt have any felony convictions.I just cant stand to have a friend un armed when this kinda crap keeps happening to him.

May i recomend a cap and ball revolver! though it may sound funny in 2007 keep in mind many men have died at the buisness end of a .44 cal colt or remington. a remington .44 cal cap and ball pistol is avilable from cabelas for about 200.00 and is leagal everywere that i know of,best of all no ffl is need it will be delivered to youre door, Then practice, practice and practice some more. Many laugh at the prospect of a cap and ball revolver for home defense but it shure beats the hell out of a pupy and good sound effects! lol

Tell him to listen to Tom Leykis and he won't have that problem with a girlfriend with kids and a bigger problem with her not liking guns.

Have a great gun carryin' Kenpo day
