Legal age in TX to transport guns?

I'm 16 years old, and was wondering if anyone knows whether or not it is legal in the state of TX to transport unloaded firearms in a vehicle. I have a valid drivers license and a clean record- would I get into any trouble if i got pulled over with a shotgun in the trunk on the way to go skeet shooting?

You have to be 18 to "possess" a long gun in Texas. If you were with your parents, no. If you are by yourself, yes, you'll be in trouble. Whether or not that makes a lot of sense has been debated here from time to time, but it is the law nonetheless.
