Lefty IWB Holster for the AMT .45 Backup?

I recently aquired this AMT .45 Backup. I have always thought they were cool little guns, but I'd been leery of getting one because of all the reports of various issues these guns had. But a guy offered it to me as a trade offer with cash to boot on another gun I was selling, so I took a chance on it. To my surprise, it has flawlessly fed everything I've tried to shoot through it, most importantly my carry ammo, Hornady Critical Defense 185 gr. I must have lucked up and got a good one. I should mention that it is one of the older Irwindale manufactured guns, with a DL serial prefix.

I'd like to find a good lefty IWB holster to carry it concealed. I have another CCW but I won't reveal it in this thread because I don't want it to turn into a this gun vs that gun debate. I'll keep that gun and alternate between the two as I see fit.

I would love to have an Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 2.0 for it like I have for my other CCW, but sadly they don't make a Kydex shell mold for it.

I have been using an old Mil-Tech size 26 holster with a metal clip and retention straps robbed off other holsters in my junk drawer, but I'd like a little better alternative if I could find it. It's hard enough to find a holster for a semi-rare, discontinued gun. And on top of that it has to be lefty/ambi.

I'm a lefty and its a pain to try to find a holster especially for a not so common platform. I know others that have had to send their pistols to holster manufacturers for a one-off holster. Ex. tactical STI and Springlfield full rail operator. At the very least you might want to try to get a hold of one of the holster manufacturer CS reps and see if they make it. Lead times aren't great but you get what you want. Just to name a few:
Aliengear, crossbreed = kydex. I prefer D.M. Bullard and TT gunleather for leather.

Galco makes one, but they say it also fits other three inch model 1911's so I would guess any other brand holster for those firearms would work also.

The AMT is considerably smaller than any 1911. It will "drop in to" that holster but won't really "fit". The AMTs haven't been made for years, and weren't all that popular when they were, so finding a holster will be difficult to impossible.

If you live in the western part of the country you should be able to find a boot and saddle maker if a holster maker isn't nearby. If that doesn't work you may be SOL because shipping, even if the holster maker will accept the gun, is prohibitively expensive. Your best option may be just making the holster you have work if you can't find a maker with the correct "blue gun".

I have read that Kel-Tec P11 and Kahr PM9/CM9 leather holsters will decently fit the Backup. That may be the route I have to go. I'd love to have a kydex/leather holster for it but it looks like the only way that will happen is to get somebody to custom form one.
