While one may think he knows what's best for me, I still believe that I should be held accountable for my own actions, and be man enough to face that truth when confronted with an err in my judgement. That said, I further believe that I should be given the choice to decide what is best for me, not a person(s) who hasn't a clue of my lifestyle, or my surroundings, or my tribulations through life.

Bad things come from within man, not what is in his hand.

That reminds me of the movie "2001:A Space Oddysey", by Stanley Kubrick.
And the scene where the Neo-man takes the stick, and uses it as a weapon.
Is the stick an evil thingnow, simply because it's going to be used with deadly intent.
At what point in time does it transform from an evil entity, to one of safety, and warmth? When it's used to make crude huts, and provide fuel for fire, when it's used to hold the carrion for cooking.
When the Neo-man uses shaped stones to enhance his weapons, does the stone now become evil as well, by virtue it provides more effecient manner to dispatch animals, or enemies?

The most foolish mistake we could make would be to allow the subjected people to carry arms; history shows that all conquerers who have allowed their subjected people to carry arms have prepared their own fall.
