Left handed youth rifle

I am in the market for a first gun for my 7 year old, did some searches over here and ruled out a couple. Thing is, I would like to get a LEFT handed bolt gun, youth model. I know it's not really necessary, but would prefer it for my left handed kiddo IF such an animal exists. Anyone know of one? If not, it's the Marlin I read about here, anyway.

Thanks Steven. As the one thing I don't have is a left handed bolt action 22 rifle, I may look into the adult size one for myself.

For a seven year old the first gun that comes to mind is the Contender carbine. They are accurate, handle well because of the length without a bolt or magazine and upgradeable. When he is ready to hunt larger game or farther targets a barrel switch to .223 or 7-30 Watters is a snap. You will then have a young man that can hit his targets and is familiar with and safe with his gun. The 410 is well capable of rabbits, birds ans clay. beertrucker-x

A decade and a half ago, Remington was making a nice clipfed 22 boltgun in right and left versions. While not really " Youth" guns, they weren't very heavy and could be lightened some without too much trouble. Best of all, they had a GREAT trigger system! My daughter Becky ( a lefty) won seond plce in a club shoot when she was 15. If You look around, You may be able to find a decent used one, or perhaps a lefty Browning t-bolt ( a model of similar weight, with an average trigger) Perhaps on one of the internet sites? Failing that, the Chipmunk 22 rifle, though not available left-handed ( as far as I know) IS already sized EXACTLY right for a 7-9 yr old!
