Lee Undersize Die or Factoy Crimp Die ??..

Hello: My name is Christian and I live in Buenos Aires - Argentina. I want to know at its discretion whether to have the Lee Undersize Die in 9mm and 45acp to improve the charging process in those calibers; here in my paies is widely used the Lee Factory Crimp Die as a 4th. step in the press. My questions are:

A. It should as a first step Unsdersize Die?

B. It takes the Factory Crimp Die if you already performed the previous step? and

C. Both Dies are compatible in the same recharging process ??.

I hope that my question is understood. Thank you very much to all.

My guns are Glock 9mm and 45acp; CZSP01 Shadow and 97B respectivaly.

GRACIAS AMIGOS !!..UN ABRAZO !!.

An "undersize die"? Do you mean a sizing die or "resizing" die to resize the case back to factory dimensions?

Get a copy of the Lyman 49th Reloading Handbood (or the 48th, 47th, or 46th) and read the section on reloading for handguns. I think you should start there. If you need one in a language other than English, I don't know if that's available. Surely it is.

You need to clarify the questions a little.
First: Reloading press model and make.
Second:Reloading dies type and description.
Once you give us that, the fellows here will guide through the process.
Easy.

some people with tight chambered/match guns have had problems with standard sized dies, and they swear by using the undersize sizing die. your gun should not need an undersize die, but if you have problems with chambering then you should investigate it.

Lee not the only one

colocolofrodo, Please, pardon me for posting in your thread without answering your question. I had to correct a small error 243xb's post #4.

243xb, Lee is not the only company that makes a crimp-only die. (But they do seem to be the only one to use the name "Factory Crimp Die"). Redding calls their crimp-only die a "Profile Crimp" die.

Note that any combination Seating-Ceimping die can be turned into a crim-only die simply by backing out (retracting) or by removing the seating stem.

I believe that Lee IS the only maker that includes a sizing ring in their crimp die.

If you get the lee deluxe 4 dies set that should be all you need. There are some issues with resizing cases fired in a Glocks because those pistols have an unsupported chamber that causes bulges in the case. Lee use to make a 9mm bulge busted die to resolve this issue. I see they no longer make that die and are selling the undersized die in its place.

Have you experienced that in cases from 9 mm Glocks? I personally have not.

A. It should as a first step Unsdersize Die?

Yes, it is a sizing die.

B. It takes the Factory Crimp Die if you already performed the previous step?

No. Your case is now the correct size. You do not need to crimp 9 mm. (It is a tapered case.)

C. Both Dies are compatible in the same recharging process ??.

Yes, but you do not need to use both.
