lee two cup .329 mold is on the way

Two cups is a pint---IIRC? A pint of lead would weigh,,,---um, a whole lot!!! Like, as in, a cannon ball.

Okay, kidding aside, I can read between the lines and realize you meant 2 cavity. No 8X56 R, but I have tried cast boolits in my 8X57JS. With little to no success. Couldn't even hit a 100 yard target, when shot at 25 yards, the boolits were hitting sideways, complete keyhole.

Since then I have come to find out that you need a real heavy bullet, seated way out to get close to the long throat in those Mausers. Haven't tried it yet, first to get a heavy .325 mold, then load some.

Take a look on this site. I did a search for you;

Read til your eyes fall out!

so... what I'm gathering is... no help.

So you went to the link I provided, read at least one of the threads on 8X56R, and didn't get what you wanted?

I'm not going to do more than that for you, there's a bunch of guys experimenting with lead in that caliber, and perhaps in the same rifle, you just have to spend some effort to find it.

Awe common Snuff, pour the fellow up some boolits, and then work him up a load, then just post it up. Whats wrong with that.......:eek:

Ok ok you both know I am just fannin the fire here.

Snuffy's right, there is a ton of info over there, but you can't sleep on the keyboard and hope it soaks in. Sheesh when I was looking for info on pouring up loads for my 454 I read till I thought my eyes were going to pop out. It worked though, I haven't had any issues with it since the first load I fired. Well I didn't have issues with the first load other than it was a bit more than I really expected it to be. After that though rock and roll all the way.

Yes Castboolts forms are a cornacopia of information on all aspects of casting.

I like the fire line to, great peeps.
