Lee Quick Trim tip

This is a little tip that Lee probably does not want you to know about.
I just trimmed 243 casings using the 7mm-08 Quick Trim Die.That said and done,I then tried the much shorter 22-250.Just removed the bushing on the cutter and replaced it with some flat washers with some graphite powder to help protect the plastic cutting adjustment and it to worked. I checked them and they were true and square.
So without getting into too much detail,it just looks like all you need is the largest size caliber in the same case family and you won,t have to buy a die for each individual cartridge.
Just thought i,d share.

Before I figured out how to never trim again, I used (5) different brands of equipment in the trim process, and only two of the tools were Lee.

1) RCBS Trim Pro 3-Way Cutter 22 Caliber,
2) Lee threaded Shellholder 223, [Lee case gauge and shell holder 90114, but not using the gauge]
3) Lee Lock stud, [Lee cutter and stud 90110, but not using the cutter]
4) 0.0495" diameter RCBS trim pro cutter shaft part number 09405
5) small needle nose vise grips,
6) 6" Kurt vise,
7) 1963 21-100 Rockwell mill [or use a drill press]

I also use the Lee deluxe quick trim tool. It works so well as is so simple that sometimes I think I'm doing it wrong. Luckily I only have to trim one caliber so the trimmer and die just remain in the SS press.
