Lee Charge Bar.. Got it to work with flake power!

Had a few lee charge bars that I tried at first and could not get it to be consistent nor get low enough for what I was looking for. Was about to toss them (yes I have spares), when I decided to mess around with them a bit. A "new bar, I could only get Titegroup to throw consistant 5.0-5.1. Any further adjustments, and it would be light, then normal, then light etc. (light as in 1.5-2.0 gn).

What I did was take the auto disk hopper off, and sand down the top frame .005-.010" with 220 sand paper and a flat surface. (Piece of glass). Next, I sanded the charge bar top surface until it was flat. Yes, there where high spots.
The final adjustment was to the end of the adjustable bar. With a file, I added a bevel to the bar, and am now able to throw consistant 3.3 gn of Titegroup.

So, you can get the charge bar to throw below .4cc with a few minor adjustments.

THAT is good information!
I could NOT get a friends Lee to throw consistant Titegroup loads,
Finally just gave him a Redding to use for his loading...

So, the UNDERSIDE of the powder bin, where it meets the charge bar,
The top of the charge bar itself,

And did you do the bottom of the charge bar?

I got the 220 grit part,
What abrasive (aluminum oxide, ect.) paper did you use?

Sanding plastic sometimes doesn't turn out well, (depends on the plastic)

THANKS FOR THE TIPS/IDEAS!

Here are some pictures of what was done..
