i cant get this thing to throw 23gr consistently it wants to throw 23, 22.7, 22.8, 23.2. I set the key when I got 23 and left it and now its all over the place.

what am I doing wrong?

Without any idea of the powder you are using it is imposable to help you .
If you are using Unique that would be RIGHT ON ?

I was just having a problem with mine throwing aa2015. Turned out I had oil in my rifle charging die and it needed a cleaning. H335 is spherical, and you should be pretty spot on with it.
Did you run graphite through it when you got it to lube it up?
Also check to see if you have static build-up in the dispenser.

Take it apart, clean it thoroughly, I just washed mine in the sink with Dawn. Then I sprayed it down with some graphite from an aerosol can, or you could run a bunch of powder through it to give it a coating of graphite. So far the only issue I've had with mine is with extruded stick powders, and the real fine powers like the Acurrate pistol powders will leak a little. Other than these two things this measure works great.

If you are a caster, that mould release agent in the aerosol can like what Midway sells is a graphite powder that works really good in this application. The carrier is volatile and so evaporates quickly leaving as thin a layer of graphite as you might want.

It's just graphite. Either get some lock graphite or like I did, the artists type in bulk. Sheesh, I have enough for 5 lifetimes, but it's worked great through the powder measures/drums. I have like 16 of them.
I've found that you do have to be consistent with how tight you have them after you change them on the Autodrum measure. Usually none will leak at all, but if I don't have it adjusted right I'll see some smashed kernals/flakes. That tells me I didn't have it setup right, and may explain why sometimes it will vary a bit more than the average. To me plus or minus .1gr is plenty accurate. It's when it's jumping more than that, that i worry.
