Lee 1oz solids velocity / effective range v barrel length

Ok I have a hunt coming up in a few days and was thinking of throwing a shotgun in and using 1oz Lee cast solids as a bit of a fun / back up gun but I’m not sure which shotgun to take.

I have an under over with 30” barrels and an IAC Lever action with 20” barrel.

What do you all think decent effective range of each would be?

Would the 30” barrel give significantly better velocity?

Cheers!

This is a shotgun scenario, not a rifle, barrel length has minimal impact.

More importantly would be sighting in to see which is more accurate in your choice of guns

In a rifled barrel you could probably go to 100 yards. The Lee Precision slug is designed for rifled barrel but I know people use them in smooth bores. Probably 40 to 70 yards max. I'm not sure which one would like the Lee slug better. Velocity is not the issue to me, accuracy/stabilization is what I would consider. Here is link to owner/user reviews for the Lee one ounce slug from Midway USA:
