Two More Officers Suspended During Investigation
There's new information Monday in the Lebanon police shooting.
NewsChannel 5 has learned two more officers will be suspended until the investigation is complete.
The two officers will be placed on administrative leave with pay. That brings the number of officers suspended now in this investigation up to four.
On Wednesday, John Adams, 62, was shot and killed in his home by police during a botched drug raid. The officers went into the wrong house.
Adams' wife was at home when the shooting happened. She said her husband fired at police because he thought it was a home invasion.
Lebanon Mayor Don Fox spoke with the family over the weekend.
He said he's forming a citizens police review board to investigate this case and all future police shootings.
"The buck stops right here. I am as accountable as Chief Weeks is. We are not going to shirk our responsibility. We made a mistake and we have stepped up and we're admitting we made a mistake," Fox said.
Fox defended the two officers who fired the fatal shots, officers Kyle Shedron and Greg Day, who were placed on administrative leave.
Fox said Shedron and Day were following orders when they went inside the house.
That means the investigation will focus more on the surveillance of the home and who gave the orders to go in.
