Leaving the Country!

Hello Forumners!
I will be leaving the country for a month. I will be bringing my tried and tested Glock 19 Gen 3 with me to use just in case. The country of destination is tropical with temperature ranging from the lowest at 70 and highest at 90 degrees.

Due to the impossible nature of acquiring any spare parts should the need be, what are the spare parts that I need to consider bringing beside oil and ammo?

Thanks

Have you checked the firearm laws of the country your visiting. Make sure it is legal to enter with a firearm.

Hummm....Not willing to share where you are going for a month. OK.....your choice. Which begs the question as to the title/subject line. The title/subject is misleading.

Then, with your question on ‘”spare parts” suggests you are going to be using your firearm more than you do in this country.......and for only a month.

Please excuse me, but this doesn’t pass my “Smell Meter”.

Oil and ammo are not spare parts.

Maybe a better topic title would have been, "What spare parts would I need to pack if I were leaving civilization for a month?"

While you most likely will not need spare parts in one month, for the Glock they are so inexpensive that it would be good Murphy insurance.

Get all the the springs, with recoil assembly and extractor spring top priorities. Also an extractor. While not likely needed I always have a spare set of pins in case I drop one and lose it while disassembling.

Be sure to take the correct punch along for disassembly, too.

Based on the OP's description, I was thinking Hawaii. Not a foreign country, but I can't think of too many places that are tropical, range only up to 90 degrees or so in the heat, and allow importation of handguns.

If it is Hawaii, unless things have changed since 2002, magazines are limited to 10 rounds.

Why bring spares......just bring a second pistol. If it's SO secret you can't tell, and SO dangerous you need a pistol, you won't have the time or inclination to be messing around with a piece of equipment that doesn't work.

Are you a secret agent (007 type license to kill) and all that. It's only the internet you can tell the mission details. Just kidding

Going for a month. I'd leave it and the hassles with traveling with it behind.

You might just pick up a spare in the country you're visiting. When my sister was in Israel she carried an Uzi. The years she spent in Africa she carried an AK.

Bring an armed gunsmith along and let him worry about it. Use his weapon as a loaner if you need repairs. You can blindfold him during the trip and this way he won't know where he's going. Upon your return please post photos for all who are interested to see, even the redacted ones. Bon voyage!
