Leather Lace up Kick Killer

I posted this in Shotguns but thought the cowboy action shooters with western era coach guns my have the insite into this I need -- Thanks

What a great site this is for info and help. I love it.

OK - I have this Mossberg 500-20ga set up for my little wife with a hogue youth stock on it. 11-3/4 LOP for her. Have been thinking of putting a Kick Killer leather lace up slip on pad on it when I want to use it to hunt. It would add 5/8 inch getting it up to 12-1/2 LOP usable for me to hunt with.

The hogue stock measures 4.8 inches. The Kick killer leather lace up's come in Xsmall@4.6 inches and Small@5.0 inches. It figures my stock would be right in the middle. I am leaning toward the larger 5.0" size as I thought I could add a wrap of leather or thin rubber inside the leather to take up the space with the larger one. Unless they run big compared to the listed size.

My question is this - Has anyone put one of these on?

Do they run small or big to there listed size? Would you order the Xsmall or Small?

Thanks

I don't have one but have used others. Since .2 inch isn't very much at all I would just trust the manufacturer's measurement and order the 5.0 inch size small.
Tightening down the laces should allow it to grip the buttstock better.
But my opinion is only worth .2 cents! :D

Thanks - but I just don't know what to do.

I read the 50 some review's on the Kick Killer Lace up on Cabela's. Many reviews said the fit was very important and to measure carefully, but only a couple mentioned if they run big or small. One said they run big get the smaller one, one said they run small get the larger one. Don't know if the way they are packaged if they are retunable. I do know they are expensive at $35.00 plus shipping so I would really like to get the initial order right.

Don't know about the pad, but I will testify to the fact, that if it isn't right, Cabela's will take it back with a smile and will gladly replace it, with the one that fits. I can't tell you how many times I have had to ship boots, and clothing back to them because I got the size wrong, and they have NEVER given me any grief over it.

Thanks Wild Bill

I guess I am going to go with your rec. Will place the XSmall on order. I think the snugger the fit the better with a slip on. If I luck out it will be great and if not I'll take them up on the return policy and see how it works out for the next larger size. I'll just be as careful as possible removing the item from the packageing if it is super sealed.

They end up selling many returned items in the bargain cave section of their superstores. And depending on condition bargain cave items can cost close to the original price.

pad

I have both lace up and slip on pads for my shotguns. I have an LOP of over 15 inches. Even 5/8" brings me closer to a proper fit. In fact, with the pad on and a heavy shirt and hunting vest or jacket, I'm close to correct. The slip on (actually velcro on) lives in game pocket of my hunting vest.
