Leather finishing

Does anyone have information on how to finish leather? Basically, how do I get the rough finish on some leather to be smooth?

Have an old pocket holster with rough inside that I would like to smooth up.

Any help appreciated.

There really is no way to "smooth" the rough out part of the leather. The holsters seen with a smooth interior, where they make contact with the gun, are lined with a nother piece of leather.

Try this. Take a can of silicon spray and a teaspoon. Spray the silicon onto the leather and work it into the leather with the flat of the spoon. Repeat as many times as you feel necessary. This will not get rid of the course nap, but it will get it to lay down more. The silicon will also help with smoothing out the draw.
