Was hard to shoot well the first two times at the range

Yesterday I was real careful

Slow fire, 5 rounds, 5 yards, six o'clock hold

I believe you need a CM hold. These are not bullseye guns. Love my 41' Colt. But its not because of its accuracy.
 
Yes, it looks like you've figured it out for those particular circumstances.
Just aim higher. :)
Now it's time to try it as it was meant to be used, at a USPSA or IDPA match maybe.
 
Very tight grouping. I've got a SR1911 and it takes continuous practice to be able to hold a steady hand and develop good groups. But that's the sport of it all...
