ProMag 10 round magazines for the Sig P220 suck so bad. I have used promags for other guns and hadn't any problems. well the followers on the two promag 10 round p220 mags I have sticks on the body and wont feed the next rounds properly....

American Eagle .22lr are so under powered (wouldn't reliably cycle my P22)that even Remington Thunderbolts looked good in comparison.

I got a few bricks of thunderbolts during the drought because it was all that i found in large quantity. well that stuff works in all of my semiautos just fine. I was always satisfied with the American eagle brand in centerfire, so I figured why not buy some in .22lr. well it turns out that the stuff I got was very weak, low powered.... best to keep it for revolver use.

I haven't gone cheap on any gun stuff in decades except for using fobus holsters but I know their limitations and use them on the range only...

word to the wise for the new guys, do not buy cheap magazines and do not buy bargain .22lr for a semiauto.

that is all. ;)

Thanks for the review ....

The Thunderbolts went through a transition phase and the current round nose are suppose to be better. Thanks for your review .... :)

Yeah avoid promag at all costs. Pure junk, not durable or tough in the least bit, maybe you can file at your follower and get it to work better.

I have never shot American Eagle .22s but am not a fan of any of their ammo really, their 10mm loads are equivalent to .40S&W loads, and all their loads are the dirtiest I have ever seen, dirtier than tulammo and others.
.22ammo now is stupid expensive and unavailable, but my favorite .22 especially for autos is CCI, mini-mags.

My old ruger 10/22 I don't think has EVER malfunctioned, even with those 550 and 525rd value packs by Remington and federal. Cycles it all. Love that gun

Today I learned that I love the new sights I put on my Walther yesterday. I highly recommend Dawson precision, their prices are good and the quality and shipping speed is top of the line.

until I tried the AE .22lr, my P22 hadn't missed a beat in several hundred rounds of various makes of ammo. the promags ive used in .32acp (tomcat and keltec) worked fine. however i wont buy another promag and i will do my best to advise others of the same.

at first i thought it was the cheap steel case wolf ammo i was using... but that cycled fine out of the oem and act (novak) magazines.

Factory Mags if possible

I try to use factory original mags 100% of the time, same thing goes for ammo too.Time has shown it has been very helpful in this regard.Good Luck:D:D
