the thermocouple on the left is the one that came with it
but i wanted to use the heavy steel one on the right to lay in the pot (i have been using one with a multi meter but got tired of looking at a conversion chart ya know ambiant juction temp voltage + probe voltage = xx.x mv then look at the conversion chart again)
i checked the stock one in boiling water and it gave me 98.7 deg C
and mine gave me 97.8 deg C
perfect for our atmosphereic pressure today would have been 99.62 deg C
so i can live with it

and yes it doesnt do Fahrenheit just Celsius so get over it :D

Excellent !!!

You did very well as you can't even get a decent dial TI for that kind of money. As far as conversions, don't; just start thinking metric. If it suits you, check the low end in stirred ice water. That is a constant temp. and here I go with 32Deg F. .....

Be Safe !!!

That would never work down here this far south, it's always F..... hot around here, and hardly ever C... ool even in December. :D

Now if you can pick up a PID set up you won't even need that, just set it to the temp you want and let her ride. A little shopping here and there and a Medium Flat Rate box and even you can have a nice set up,

Sorry I shamelessly borrowed that pick from Beagle, gotta admit though I had NEVER thought of doin that myself, and I have had a BUNCH of those boxes sitting around here over the past year or two. ;)

I don't know if anybody wants to go that fancy. ;) That's a high-dollar set-up right there, 'what with the cost of them printed-up boxes and all! :p

That is a pretty neat little thermometer that the OP has shown though. Even if it does only read in °C, it's got lots of uses for under 7 bucks.
