Lead Bullets in H&K USP

Just started looking at the firing line. I've caught a couple of comments that indicate H&K's don't like lead bullets.

My USP 45 loves 185's loaded with 4.2 grains of titegroup. I've got roughly 3000 rounds of lead through the gun and it shoots great...and no I'm not a fanatic about cleaning the gun. When I do clean the pistol I have not seen an usual amount of fouling in the barrel.

Any comments?

Hello Doug.
My USP40 shoots the Oregon Trail 175 SWC lead bullet with delight and ease. The load is W231 in middle to high density loadings. The Chrony records them about 900 to 950. Leading occurs, but not catastophically. The polygonal rifling is easy to clean anyway.

I keep hearing about this or that pistol having a blanket exception to lead bullets. From a mechanical perspective, I do not understand the theory.

AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH......why would you want to shoot lead bullets in such a fine weapon anyways??? Most gun ranges down here don't let you shoot lead bullets anymore.
