Lead Blowback?

I've been putting alot of rounds through my old pencil barreled Mdl 10 (D630xxx). After a range session there are lead deposits on the face of the cylinder(normal), but also in the cylinder flutes, the outside edge of the topstrap toward the rear, and the outside front edge of the cylinder. Is it the ammo (Cavim 158gr lead RN), the timing, both, or something else???? Any opinions would be appreciated, since I haven't had this problem with my Colt DS or Ruger SecSix. Accuracy doesn't seem to be affected.
Thanks.

I remember a similar collection of crap on my 686 when I shot a case of 158 gr LRN ammo. I fixed it by switching to FMJ ammo.

I used to have that problem when I first started shooting & didn't know the difference between Swaged lead & Cast lead. The softer swaged lead leaves heavy deposits everywhere. Buy the harder Cast lead bullets or 130 gr jacketed bullets made by Winchester USA . (you can recognize a cast bullet by the line in the center where the mold came together.)

If it continues to "spit" with FMJs, the timing's out or the forcing cone needs reaming. If this is a well used revolver and hasn't had the problem previously, have the timing checked.
