LE 00Buck rounds

Anybody know what spec LE 00Buck is?
Is it the standard size buck .33" (8.4mm) or do different jurisdictions spec what '00 Buck' they want?

I think the shot size is predetermined by standards,,, The LE rounds are a little lighter on powder IIRC and some use 8 pellets rather than 9. Both lower powder charge and lower payload reduce felt recoil.

The shot size is standard. Different departments use different brands and different brands are loaded to different specs.

Hornady, Federal, Speer, Winchester, Remington all load LE versions of their shotshells. Some are full power 9 pellet loads, some are reduced recoil 9 pellet and 8 pellet loads.

My personal favorite is Federal's LE12700 loading. Full power 9 pellet load at 1345 FPS with a flite control wad.

Federal 2 3/4" 00 9 pellet buck loads, both LE standard velocity (LE127-00) and Premium (don't know the stock # on that), run about 1325fps IIRC.

The reduced recoil stuff (LE132-00), also 9 pellet 00, runs about 1145fps.

Far as I know, 00 is all the same size...
