LCR cylinder release button

The Saturday before last, the 26th I was out shooting my LCR. While shooting the cylinder release button popped out. It happened on the first shot of a fresh cylinder. The cylinder was solid and locked in, so I fired the rest of the cylinder. I was able to partially pull the trigger, enough to pop the release button back in. I was then able to activate the button and open the cylinder and extract the empties. When I closed the cylinder back up I could no longer use the release button to open it back up and the cylinder was frozen.

I sent it back to Ruger on the 28th. I just got it back today, May 7 and they had replaced the cylinder button, pivot screw, spring and plunger.
Ruger customer service is great.

I'm curious if anyone has had problems with the button popping of their gun.

If you're equally seeking negative chime ins on this, I've had a 38 LCR for a few years and never had a single problem, escaping buttons included. Glad they repaired it for you but I wouldn't expect anything less from Ruger. They're pretty excellent

I had a 357 LCR - I ended up trading for a Smith but it was a good shooter, ann easy CCW carry and never had a bit of trouble with it. When it was new, the cylinder release was somewhat tight but after a little lubrication and use, it worked fine. I've never heard of anyone having a problem like yours but hey, "things happen".

The nice thing is that Ruger offers excellent and speedy customer service - fine folks to deal with and they take care of their customers. I no longer have my LCR but do own a number of other Ruger handguns and long arms - all well made and dependable.

Sounds like the good folks at Ruger got you fixe up in a short time. Glad you got it back so quick and got it all back in shape. Enjoy it and have fun! :)

Glad they squared up with you. No problems with mine, but I'm still trying to get used to the release button :D. I've been so used to s&w's and taurus :).
