A few months back a couple of guys were saying how they could shoot pie plate size groups with their LCPs at 15 yards. My experience with my LCP had been such, that I didn't really believe that. It had been over a year since I shot the thing. I changed my technique and was shocked to actually have similar results at the range yesterday. I was wondering if anyone else makes adjustments to improve accuracy due to the diminutive size of the gun.
Normally for a double action gun, I will pull the trigger using my distal joint (joint closest to finger tip). For the LCP my finger pokes too far through and hits my left hand if I'm holding the gun tightly. I guess I had been compensating by changing my grip or something. This time I decided to do the full trigger pull with my fingertip (like I would a striker fired gun, or something with a lighter trigger pull). It made all the difference.
Disclosure: The iron sights on my LCP are way off. I put a Crimson Trace Laser on it a couple years back and sighted it in myself. However, I have been so inconsistent with it I didn't know I did a decent job of sighting it in until yesterday.
