LCP guide rod chewed up?

Hello all,

Any concerns for an LCP guide rod that has 'bites' in the metal? I know the springs and rod are different metal. I am wondering if there could be a reliability issue with it?

Once my LCP's guide rod and slide got wedged together and held the slide open after recoil. That left a gouge mark on the guide rod. I would guess that the guide rod base plate wasn't where it was supposed to be and changed the angle of the guide rod in relation to the slide.

It was also having FTF issues. I doubt if I ever shot it enough to officially break it in. It spooked me pretty bad so I went back to little revolvers.

All that was with WWB and American Eagle 95gr FMJ.

Mine has many rounds through it. I just took it down to look closely. There isn't any roughness on the rod. I would replace it. It can't be very expensive and I wouldn't be comfortable knowing it was like that. I don't know if it could affect cycling, but I why risk it?
