LCP and my thumb.

I fired about 150 flawless rounds with the flat magazine base.

I switched to the curved base and my ring finger barely squeezes in, thus putting downward pressure on the magazine.

I went to the range and twice my thumb apparently hit the mag release button and so obviously the next round would not cycle. The mag did not fall to the ground but came out just enough to stop cycling.

I changed my grip but did not like how the gun felt in my hand.

I'm thinking about filing down the release button.

For what it's worth, with the flat bottom on the mag, more force is required to fully insert the mag.

Thoughts?

Sounds like you have big fingers.

One thought: The Pearce Grip base bad extensions for the LCP are not as "hooked" as the Ruger ones, and might work better for you.

Hogue makes a rubber grip for the lcp that makes it harder to push the mag. relies.i have one no my lcp and it makes a world of differance

I've done that very thing on semi-autos I carry in my hip pocket. By boney butt presses into the mag release button and releases the magazine. Thus, making them a single shot.

As an option to a second magazine for my primary weapon, I carry a Kel-Tec P32 in a wallet holster in my right back pocket. The mag release button definitely needed filing down.
