LC9s trigger

First I will say that I love this little handgun! Its just the right size to carry open or concealed. Its very accurate

For me, a person that grew up shooting revolvers, the trigger is too light.

Can I make the trigger heavier on this gun?
 
You bought the wrong LC9. If you want a long trigger, the non S LC9 has one of the longest triggers in the business. I'm not sure if you can make it heavier but I'd bet you would have no problem trading for an older model.
 
I thought about trading but this is a brand new gun, I will loose my ***.

Simple case of I should have shot the old DA style and the striker before I purchased.

I can live with it but Its going to take some getting use to.
 
You could sell your used LC9S and buy a used LC9 for less. Most LC9 owners wish they had the LC9S or even better, the LC9S Pro.

I bet if you give it more trigger time you'll warm up to your lighter trigger. I can't stand the older long travel trigger.

I'm NOT being critical, or making fun of you (the OP).....it just struck me as funny, that's all. Usually you never hear of someone wanting a heavier trigger.

I, too, grew up on revolvers and they still are my first love. Come to think of it, both of my current semi-autos have "revolver-like" triggers. The LC9s I'm sure is very different, just as when I first tried a Glock for example. But, training and practice will provide the solution. Keep at it - you'll get there.

I highly recommend dry-firing for practice. Saves on ammo and you can practice trigger control very effectively - as much as you want. Just be sure to do it SAFELY - (NO live ammo or loaded magazines anywhere near the gun !!!).

Pity we are not within driving distance, I could help you out by doing a straight up trade, you wouldn't have to kick in ANY extra bucks! :p

Maybe it's because I tried the LC9 before the LC9s came out that I do NOT find the LC9 trigger objectionable at all.

While I do find the small size of the LC9 to be 'handy' unfortunately I handled the LCP before the LC9 and the LCP is a real spoiler as far as size is concerned.
 
The original LC9 trigger didn't work for me. Too long and too heavy. It was my one and only complaint about the pistol. Other than that I loved it. And yes, I sold the LC9 and upgraded to the LC9S pro. Love the trigger on the pro :D I have no doubt you can find someone on Armslist or one of the other sites to trade with for an LC9. Just make sure you shoot one first so you can see how very different they really are.
 
I own a few DA and SA revolvers so when I got my first semi-auto I tried a few and fell in love with the DAO trigger on the Sig P250c, my second pistol was the LCP, love the trigger on that little gem! I just can't warm up to this LC9 trigger. The first time I shot it a sent 3 down range like a machine gun, almost like I was bump shooting the darn thing. Yes I could get use to it, I have to some degree, but I lust like a DAO trigger.

I grew up shooting one of the worst triggers known to man, a Winchester 190 .22LR/L/S. I still have that rifle and it measures 13# of trigger pull!

The nice thing about shooting a crappy trigger as a kid, I rarely pull my shot off due to trigger pull. But a light trigger surprises me and I tend to not be fully on target when it goes bang.

Make fun if you want but I like to be in full control of my firearm when pointing it and I don't feel comfortable with this one. Yet anyway. I tried the old style LC9 today and I like it. Should have done that before a spent $330 for what I have.

I still feel its a great handgun, just not great for me
 
I've owned all 3 models of the LC9 Ruger has made.All have been accurate and 100% reliable.I EDC the LC9s(prefer manual safety) with full confidence.Whatever YOU decide, the LC9 is a proven gun. Good Luck :D
 
Yeah...go to the LC9 hammer fire! And if you like your revolver, cock the hammer in single action each time for a better hit on bull's eye.
 
All kidding aside SARuger I'm sure if you look you could find someone with an LC9 that would give you some money to do a swap.
 
I bought the LC9s pro model and I agree with you it's too light for defense. I too shoot revolvers and the LC9 hammer guns are fine, so I just purchased a standard LC9 hammer gun. The trigger is lighter than a revolver but controllable and I like it. I just bought the LC9 at Buds, he has a few new guns in stock but they are going fast and then no more hammer firing LC9 guns. Too bad to, I would love to see a hammer LC9 Pro model with a stainless slide. I would be all over that. Just buy a new LC9 for $289.00 + shipping of $14.00 at Buds and have it shipped to your FFL for transfer.
 
SARuger, if your local GS doesn't have one, have them send their FFL to Buds and you can get it there. I bought mine on line, paid for it and shipping, then had them send it to an FFL close to my home. That's it!

Sorry, you can't cock the hammer for single action on the LC9 as it is recessed in the slide.
 
Now I'm the opposite. I'm an old revolver guy and love light triggers, which is why I love the LC9s. I wouldn't let it go for anything. Very accurate, reliable as heck, and reasonably priced. If I had any complaint would be field stripping is a real PITA.
 
I wasn't loving the trigger on my LC9. LGS wasn't going to pay me enough in trade so I kept it but bought an LC9s Pro anyway. Love the trigger! I haven't carried it yet although I don't have any problem with it. Just still loving my CZ 75D PCR for carrying.
 
Buds is sold out, wants me to put $350 down to reserve one that they do not have!

I will pass, I only paid $330 for this striker fired.

I might try to trade local with someone looking to upgrade.
