LAX Ammunition information needed

Has anybody used LAX Ammunition remanufactured ammo? I had a flyer emailed to me the other day and they seem to have decent prices on their 9mm, 40cal and 45acp remanufactured ammo. I do my own reloading so I've never purchased reloaded ammo before. I'm just looking for plinking ammo instead of using my own stock.

I remember hearing about some freedom arms ammo exploding folks' guns. I think it killed a shield that belonged to someone on this or the green forum but I lack the will to hit search :o

LAX beats even Freedom and IMO that's not a good sign... I'd say just shoot wolf, you wouldn't want to collect and reload remanufactured brass anyway.

I nor anyone known have ever used LAX. At some point in the past I have used and still have ammo newly made and reloaded by Miwall. Both vendors do shows within and out of state. Miwall is probably the largest ammo show seller on the west coast. Can't recall having issues with Miwall ammo other than having a ding or two in a military metal box of 223Rem.

I believe Miwall stopped shipments to patrons and sell at the shows and at times from their warehouse/plant. Miwall's presents at the shows is usually readily visible, they are the only vendor that use a semi.

I've used their 9mm, 45acp and .357mag. Only the .357mag was their reloads, they shot really well out of my lever action. Pretty stout compared to what I've shot from Freedom, not a massive difference but there was a bit more recoil. Don't have a chrono but they hit POA and were really consistent firing off hand.

I've gotten 500 rd ammo cans of their 9mm and 40 S&W reloads a couple times now - cheaper cans than Plano, with plastic fasteners, but perfectly adequate ammo and cans. I also picked up a 250 rd can of new mfg 158 gr 357 Mag, equivalent to $14/box, so super cheap. VERY mild load, 925 fps, but good nickel cases. I've also bought new mfg'd Blazer (38 Spl) and Tulammo (M1 Carbine) at very good prices. I'll order from them again, 9mm for $8.75/50 is hard to beat.

I looked into buying some of their 454 Casull ammo until I realized they were using a 45 acp jacketed bullet in their ammo. That's a big no-no. The bullets are the same size, but a jacketed bullet in 454 casull needs a thicker jacket to withstand the pressure. The jackets of 45 acp jacketed bullets will split and strip in the barrel, destroying accuracy. I've written them off since then.

I just bought 250 rnds of 10 mm. Pretty cheap and it kicked the balls off the ppu I shot just before it. They were really stout for the price A+

Probably shot about 1500 rnds of their 9mm reloads. They seemed inconsistent some hotter some colder. In the end, I have switched to Win White box. After paying freight, all of the way across the country, there is not that much difference in price between their reloads and factory new. Given the variance between rounds, I prefer the consistency of factory rounds. As well as the safety of factory rounds. The plastic ammo cans are nice. Never had a failure or problem with any of their ammo.
