7. LAWSUITS LEAD GUN MAKER TO FILE FOR
BANKRUPTCY
In the first sign of the impact of the growing number of municipal lawsuits against the gun industry, Davis Industries, a well-known gun manufacturer in California, filed for bankruptcy, raising concern that other firearms companies may also use bankruptcy to try to avoid suits. Davis Industries, of Chino, California, filed for bankruptcy reorganization in the federal bankruptcy court in Riverside on May 27. So far, 22 counties and cities have sued gun makers.
