Seen on Special Victims Unit, last night, the following.
The scene was placed at an indoor shooting range, with a past rape victim, and the lovely Dectctive Benson in play.
Former victim was fireing a 50 caliber Desert Eagle pistol, in what seemed to be RAPID FIRE MODE. The shooter was slight in stature, though she shot well.
The dialogue went on to describe the pistol as having "a 14 round magazine, which was illegal in New York". Benson also described a semi automatic pistol with a 14 round magazine as being "almost an assault weapon".
It has been a very long time since I lived in NYC, therefore I might well not be up to date on "legalities" there, but Desert Eagle Pistols, as manufactured, all take single stack magazines or 7 round capacity, at least all that I've seen did.
There are, it seems, no limits to "artistic license" or was it "licentous artists"?
