latest on my nightmare.welp got to the shop for the warranty werk on said 1911a1 commander clone.seems they ordered a extracter for the 1911a1 clone of mine that was undrilled and sent it to be drilled by another " reputable smith" in the area.also they said they couldnt order the standard link for it after i repeatedly told them 3 times to get a colt link which is interchangeable.i get home.i see rust ruined my bluing after i handed it to them rust free and well oiled.i take the slide off to inspect.i see tool gall marks on the slide where the pin held the extracter in and inside the slide which leads me to believe the so called smith does not know diddly.also the hole drilled isnt circular, its ovalled out after the bit they used walked off center, not to mention that with a round on the breech face the extracter the round is now 3\32" away from breech face!after 3 good long hours of cleaning rust and reshaping/reworking the extracter i finally got it to work right and seat the round flush, its a shame that the so called smith didnt mount the extracter then mark the hole with a thin punch/scribe so it would line up correctly.tonight i have to test it yet i fear that it will fail within 100 rds if that as the hole is very close to the edge of the extractor making it thin.this is not a standard colt style as well in the slide extractor yet it was fine before it blew out to begin with.this is what i get? they knew damned well i had a match and qualify shoot tonite as well, this particular LLama clone groups good at 25 yards let alone avg 2 inch spread as well being the reason.now i have to rely on a nine to do the job if the 45 fails me tonite after testing, after 2-3 weeks of waiting,i can no longer trust anyone now to do a warranty job.beware the backwoods gunshop.i plan on reaming major but tuesday morning with the owner over this issue of no link/rust damage/ovalled extractor hole and fit etc. as well as warn all the poeple at the range and in my phone book about this hakker who works for him,now i have to order the parts and do it myself which is what i shouldve done to begin with instead of making them eat the warranty work for once, its just bad that for once i had used the warranty option and got nailed instead of doing it myself, there is no joy in mudville tonite .

Sorry to hear of your bad experience with the slackers. You deserve to go out and buy yourself a Kimber or Springfield and then you won't have to deal with those second rate wannabes again. Good luck! :)
