Last round jam

Factory Sig 229 10 round .40 S&W mag. Last round jams 50% of the time. The other one feeds 100%. All measurements check the same (feed lips, etc.). New Wolff +10% mag springs, and new recoil spring, too. Any type of ammo causes a last round jam, round will not feed all the way, and gets stuck cockeyed in the chamber 3/4 the way in. Any ideas? Anything else that I need to check?

Yes, the gun/springs were 5 years old, and VERY worn out. I tried some factory replacement springs, but was given the Wolff springs, new in bag, as a gift. The gun jams less with the Wolff springs.

Any more ideas? Thanks!

Have read the above, and still think that problem lies in the magazine...the relationship of course always changes with the last round. Is the last round sliding cleanly up the breechface an under the extractor? hanging up nose first? Hope you find a fix.

OK, here's what I did. The gun performed a classic class 4 (failure to lock into battery) last round only, all mags, once I started to pay attention. I purchased another factory mag (robbed by the store for $50), and it still happened.
I tore the gun down to parade rest and removed the extractor assembly. I polished the extractor, and the breechface of the slide. There was a lot of build up of something (?) on the breechface that didn't clean off with gun cleaner, but polished off just fine. As it is a used gun, i'm not sure how abused it has been.
I've since shot 500 rounds through it, with the new Wolff recoil and mag springs. NO JAMS of any type. I can't even induce a jam by limp wristing or anything else. Shoots 50 rounds into one 4 inch ragged hole at 15 yards. I'm thinking that for $500 and some springs, I did OK?
