Last "Lone Ranger" passes

Bob Hite...the announcer and narrative voice for the original radio series version of the "Lone Ranger" died today. He was 86.

"....with a cloud of dust, and a hearty Hiyo Silver....."

It was a great show for kids. When my baby sister was born, I went to the hospital dressed as a cowboy, wearing two six-guns. All of us played cowboys and indians, and later, 'army'. None of us shot up a school ...
 
Very sad. In the category of wholesome, decent heroes, I'm not sure there's been anyone to pass the torch to.
 
You're right, Jimmy, the era died a long time ago. Sadly, the man had to live to see what the world has become. He was definitly an icon, I'd gladly trade this 'puter to relive that era.
