LaserMax internal laser

Anybody have experiance (or 2nd hand tales) about the LaserMax internal laser sighting devices? These replace the guide rod & spring spring.

Every once in a while, when I have more money than brains, I consider one for my Beretta 92.

Are they reliable? Accurate? Can they screw-up an otherwise very reliable gun?

Thoughts?

I personally like them better than any rail attachment or grip laser.
A bit pricey, but worth it if you can afford it.

i've had one for about 6-7 years now. Some folks don't like the pulsating beam. They do require a seperate action to turn on the lazer but since the button is usually exactly where your finger should be anyway(untill you are ready to shoot)it's not that big of a deal. But the truth of any lazer is,unless you are doing LE or DET(dynamic entry team)work, all lazers are just pretty much for the "cool factor" with your range buddies.

I have had a lasermax for my Glock 22 for about a year now.

It is very cool.

But that is about where it's functionality stops.

I suppose in a worst case scenario, anything that may give you an advantage is a good thing to have. That mentality was what I used to justify the $300 purchase. My G22 is my main home-protection handgun. Therefore it is equipped with night-sights and a laser.

Accuracy is nominal. Nothing spectacular.

The replacement of the guiderod/spring assembly has never caused a problem for my very reliable Glock. The guiderod and spring assembly is top notch (at least for the Glock model). I have been contemplating adding one to my G26.

If you have money, I would recommend picking one up. If not, don't lose any sleep over it. The WOW factor isn't that great and the utility is questionable at best.
