Las Vegas Odds on Presidential Race

I guess it's like a football line. I asked the same question. When I get an answer, I'll post it.

Anyhow, those folks think odds and money, not "feelin' yore pain". I'd guess they're pretty cold-blooded about it.

What the heck. Anytime "my boy" is ahead, it's happyfyin'.

This is the spread on electorial votes. They are saying in effect that they are betting that Bush will win by 175 electorial votes and Gore will lose by 135. If you want to bet on Bush you will only win if Bush gets more than 175 electorial votes needed to win the election. If you bet on Gore you will win if he wins the election or only loses the election by less than 135 electorial votes. Anything in the middle and the odd makers win. Same concept as in any sports.

I would say that this is a strait money line.
You have to risk $175 to win $100 on Bush, and if you risk $100 on Gore you would win $135. Looks good for Bush.
