Large,thick grips for S&W NFrame 44 mag

Tman posted a thread looking for small, thin grips. I have the reverse problem. I need a thicker grip for best control. I own several N Frame S&W 44 mags but only one came with the original S&W thick wood grips and the S&W logo. These work very well for me but I don't wish to take them on and off the various models. Smith does not make or have these available any longer but I sure would appreciate any information as to where I could get several sets of these original wood grips or the equivalent. The wood grips that come with the Classic DX are to thin for me.

Are you talking about the Magna grips or the larger Target grips? I can't imagine wanting anything bigger than the Target models as I can hardly get my hand around one.

Tons of these for sale on ebay. N frame Targets can be had for $20-$40 in very nice shape. Just search "hunting" in sporting goods with key word "grips."

Thanks for the reply. I believe I would want Magna grips but I am not certain until I see a picture

Have Thick Ironwood Grips

I have some never marketed Tropical Ironwood Grips that take a carbide cutter to touch them. The attachment is of the smaller K-L frame grips.

The N frame grips are for BIG or two handed grips.

I had them made for me in the 70's and the wood is now considered a National Treasure of their country with severe restrictions on export if allowed at all. I will try to take some pics when it cools down outside here in California.

try www.nill-grips.com.
i tried to find Herrets grips;they made exactly what your looking for. Nill appears to use the same design: it covers the backstrap of the grip frame.
Bill Jordan made this grip type famous due to his large hands. i love the look, but my hands are too small.
