LAPD consent decree

I was flipping channels on the boob toob and caught the tail end of a news story about the LAPD consent decree.

Apparently the 20 year time frame is coming to an end and the LAPD hasn't been able to comply with the court order(s).

So, does anyone know what happens next? Do the Feds just walk in and take over? Does LAPD get an extension of the existing time limit? What?
 
It is a 5 year time period

from the time when Rampart Division was having problems.

The original poster is incorrect about the time limit. It is being overseen by DOJ.
