Lama 45ACP?

Free they're expensive. The ones I've handled look to be made or pot metal. Run a search of the archives here and you'll see that the majority of posters have had much bad juju with this brand.

So many pistols, so little money.

I picked up a large frame Llama in the local hardware store gun case the other day..
It didnt LOOK to bad, but when I racked the slide it made this horrible SCREEEE sound.
Hmmmm...thats not good I thought.
I went on handling the weapon (it was a 1911 clone, I could almost hear JMB rolling in his grave)and when I removed the magazine metal filings fell out!!
Thats enough of Llama for me...

Hi, guys,

They look and feel good, but the metal is soft and there is a lot of hand filing on the inside. The ones I have been able to test were not accurate; the last one gave about 12" groups at 25 yards from a rest, the result of a very badly fitted barrel. The owner wanted to fit a new barrel and bushing and do an accuracy job; I had to tell him the gun would never be any good no matter what he did.

One other problem with a LLama is that they are not standard 1911 inside, so you can't use many of the neat parts you might want to for customization.

You could buy it for a buck and a half, remove the firing pin and let your kids play with it....

That about sums it up. My uncle bought one and has shot it a FEW times. Soon afterwards he got a Glock .45 and hasn't looked back. Especially since I could get him a 13 round mag for his Glock for $ 35.00.

The Llama is not made well, doesn't shoot well and is not accurate. They sell lots of them here in El Salvador because they are cheap, $ 600, compared to the Glocks, $ 1,200 or H&K, $ 1,500.

My advice is to stay away from the Llama.
