Lady Smith's Worth

Depends on which model you're referring to. I bought a like new 65LS not too long ago for $400, which is a STEAL in this area. There is also a 60LS that is a .357, but they run slightly less. Hope this helps!

Do you have one, or are you looking for one. If you're looking for one and would like to rid yourself of the "Ladysmith" logo, email me. :)

I got my 65LS in as new condition for $395.00. Than again, on one of the auction sites there is one that they're asking $699.00 for. From what I've seen over the years that's about the extremes. I'd have paid up to $475.00 for the one I got though.

What advantages do you get with the Lady Smith? I'd like to get the 36LS and 65LS by winter but wonder is there any real difference between them and the originals i.e. 65LS vs S&W 60 3," 36LS vs S&W 36. Is the trigger lighter or better somehow?

The older guns had action work done to them, but I think the new actions are about the same as the others. The LS models are laser engraved, and usually come in fancy cases. In the case of the 65LS, there is no other way to get a shrouded extractor 3" model 65, in all other models I think they are the same.

You have your model numbers confused. The M65LS is a three-inch K-frame (six shot) with a shrouded ejector. The corresponding non-LS model is the M65 (unshrouded ejector and far more common with a four-inch barrel though two and three inch barrel models were made)--the M13 is corresponding blue model. The M60 is a J-frame (five shot).

The pre-ILS, pre-MIM, pre-frame mounted firing pin, M65LS are bringing a premium (and for good reason, they are just about the best combat revolvers ever made). S&W really put a lot of effort into the early, and the ones I've handled (mine included) have outstanding triggers out of the box. I don't know if they went through the performance center first or not, but they sure full like they've had a duty action job.

If someone knows what they have expect to pay a premium (but if they don't there are some good deals to be had if you act fast).

Some people turn their ladies into men. I got the idea for my "ManSmith" on this forum, and transformed mine immediately. I'm not such a fan of the bead blasting on stainless, and I can't stand laser engraving. Here's a 65LS turned "ManSmith."
