Lady Kahr?

Has anybody heard of a Lady Kahr? While doing my looking and shopping for a P9, I called a semi-local gunshop inquiring about prices on a P9. He informed me he had a Lady Kahr that was about a 98% condition. Two mags, manual, and box.

I have never heard of one. Anybody got any info on one? And what would be a good price on it? If they're any good, I might pick one up for my wife. If they're fairly rare, it might not last long either.

All info appreciated.

If I'm not mistaken, the Lady Kahr simply had a lighter recoil spring, making it easier for the "weaker sex" to rack the slide.

Lighter recoil spring, not +p rated, and supposedly a smoother trigger. They don't seem to be making them anymore.

Just like the other guys said, lighter recoil spring. Not made anymore I don't think. You can make one yourself from any Kahr by buying Wolff under power recoil springs and putting in the Elite trigger if it doesn't have one.

I'd be wary. I've had lots of trouble with my P9 not wanting to go into full battery (about 5-10% of the time). Kahr's first response was that the extractor was probably too tight and had me get a gunsmith to remove about .005 from the rear extractor pin. This did not fix the problem.

Next, they sent me a "stiffer" recoil spring. This helped, but did not eliminate the problem completely. Now the gun has been sent back to Kahr. They've had it for a bit over three weeks and I've heard nothing.

I have absolutely no proof of this, but I believe the reason they stopped the production of the "lighter" recoil "Lady Kahr" is because of exactly the kind of problems I've encountered with my P9. After all the good things I'd heard about Kahr Arms, I've been more dissappointed in this firearm than any other one I've owned - and this gun was not cheap. Hopefully they'll make it right. I'll keep you advised.

The Lady Kahr was an attempt to market to women, it did not go over well and was soon discontinued due to some of the problems listed here and low demand.

If a lighter recoil spring is the only difference, it's not that big an issue. It would also appear that a lighter spring might help the initial cocking, but subsiquently, the recoil would be harsher too.

I believe I'll pass on the "Lady Kahr".

Kahr has supposidly corrected the premature slide lock problem. Models that have the small screw underneath the slide lock lever have the upgrade. P9s that have this upgrade, have been getting positive feedback. I had a Kahr K40, and it was an excellent pistol. It was a bit uncomfortable to shoot, and too heavy as a CCW for me.

I've always had a pretty good response from Kahr's customer service. Keep the faith, I think you'll be please with it.
