Kytac Holsters - Help

I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but does anyone know another way to contact David Elderton at Kytac Holsters? David told me he was shipping my holsters and they should have arrived by now, and my wait has now been about twice as long as what David stated it would be.

I have had no luck in getting a response via email (kytac@aol.com) or phone
(405) 844-6040.

I would appreciate any help or advice anyone might be kind enough to offer.

Thanks!

To those who contacted me, thanks for your advice, assistance and comments. I wanted to let you know I heard from David at Kytac this evening and he is going to ship my order this week. So, it looks like I should be good to go soon.

After I receive my order, I will post a followup to provide my non-expert review of the holsters and pouches. I suspect my grades for quality will be high.

Thanks again.

Beware of Kytac Holsters/David Elderton

Calvin - I got burned again.

I contacted David by email today to see if he had a tracking number for my package he promised to ship a few days ago (see link below) and he said he "meant to call me" but my order did not ship as promised. He now says he will ship it out this coming week. Link: http://www.okshooters.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26271&page=3

Back in January, when I placed my order, David said my wait would be 4 weeks.

On March 6, David said he would ship my order out on March 10 or March 11. He not only failed to ship, but did not have the courtesy to tell me the order was not going out as promised.

I post this not to whine or complain, but to caution other potential consumers that you may want to wait to pay when your order is completed.

Welcome to a growing club. My order was due in early October. So far he's missed, the original ship date and four "I promise - this week" and one "it's shipping today" commitments. I don't ever expect to see either the product or the refund. I feel I've been ripped off. I'm not sure where you draw the line between p-poor businessman and out and out criminal fraud but in my opinion David is isn't somebody that could I recommend doing any business with. If you paid by credit card then I'd contact them and dispute the charges. If you mailed a check then you might have a criminal case with the postal inspectors.

Kytac

More and more people are finding their way to different forums to express their feelings:o However, none of them are getting their orders as of today

Update: I received my order, which was shipped via 2-day FedEx. Quality is very good, particularly the finish work on the edges. :) Look forward to trying out the new gear at the range.

Paid $279 for 3 Heat packages for my P239, P228 and P229 on April 9, 2007.

Called and actually talked to him a month ago on a Friday. "I can't make one for a .357 P239, frame's different than a 9. They'll go out Monday." *click*

Didn't bother to verify who I actually was or my ship to address.

So I sent an email verifying the phone call and with all my info.

Nothing still.

So I just emailed him and told him to keep his holsters as I was happy with what I'm using.

I'll be dropping by the PO tomorrow to file for a refund on my money order.

I understand the "Not my real job." and "Quality takes time" stories but you've had my money a year, already paid taxes this year on my money you earned so I should have SOMETHING to show for it.

I wound up disputing the charge on my credit card. Normally the card companies limit you to 60 days, but I guess that they've had dealings with him before because they allowed the dispute 5 months later.

If you paid cash and it's been almost a year then I'd say leave some feedback on the Oklahoma board. That's close to home and his friends and will put some pressure on him. It may not solve the problem but it can't hurt.

This is really nothing new.
I remember reading a ton of similar stories as far back as 6-7 years ago which made me hesitant to order anything from him.
Apparently I lucked out and got my stuff without incident...maybe because I'm local...but in my opinion there is nothing about his gear that is so impressive over products like Comp-Tac that it is worth dealing with the hassle of never knowing if/when you'll receive your order.
I've used Kydex gear from at least a half a dozen makers and they all have their pros and cons, but like I say there is simply nothing that impressive about the kytac stuff. It's just another brand of plastic gear and not even made as well as comp-tac, IMO.

If you really believe it'll "make you faster" then go for it. LOL!
