Kydex holster for a 686

How many of you have a kydex holster for your revolver? What are your thoughts? Are you happy or dissatisfied with it?
Thanks in advance

My 686 is mainly used for IDPA competition, so I use a kydex holster. In competition, kydex rules. I have carried this same rig on occasion, though, and have zero problems or complaints.

Personally, I think its a sin to carry any good revolver...especially a S&W or a Colt in a kydex holster....

The only thing I carry any of my guns in ---is good, well made, horsehide leather from Kramer Leather !

I've seen a number of kydex holsters break during a variety of class/range practice/ rivets failing ??...maybe they weren't properly made, I don't know ....I just can't go down the path of kydex holsters...sorry.

A good well made leather holster isn't cheap ...and I'm not a competitive shooter, where it may be an advantage --but I'm not getting away from horsehide.

Purists are slow. If you're going to shoot IDPA with your 686, get a kydex holster. CompTac and ReadyTac make good ones (ReadyTac makes good speedloader holders, too). I've not used a MasterTac holster, but I've checked them out in person, and they look well-made, too.

I use a Kydex for my 686, I also use it for my 586 but I'll not use Kydex on another nice blue revolver. My 586 now has a lot of "character", I should have bought leather for the 586.

What about revolver pouches or holders?

You mean speedloader holders? ReadyTac, North Mountain, BladeTech. Safariland holders aren't IDPA-legal (don't cover the body of the loader).
